Deerfield track and field wins one event at Fort Invite; two runners compete at Hale Distance Night

The Deerfield track and field team competed at the rain-shortened 75th Fort Invite on Friday, April 26 at Fort Atkinson High School.

The boys team finished seventh with 10 points. Watertown Luther Prep won the boys competition with 52 points.

Senior Eli Key finished second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.68 seconds. Junior Evan Grosvold (21.25) ran eighth in the hurdles as well. Senior Parker Howard took second in the pole vault at 11 feet.

The 4x800 relay team of senior Landyn Christianson, senior Martin Kimmel, senior Robert Thompson and freshman Brady Fleming took seventh at 9:29.16. In the triple jump, junior Wyatt Brattlie scored 10th at 34 feet and 7.75 inches.

The girls team finished third with 24 points. McFarland won the girls competition with 39 points.

The girls 4x800 relay team of junior Piper Ryan, senior Ella Arenz, freshman Madi Ledbury and junior McKenna Michel took first place at 10:23.43.

Junior Brianna Ament finished second in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.02 seconds. In the long jump, junior Rylee Berryman (15-8) took second and junior Maddie Kimmel (13-6) tied for ninth. Berryman also scored third in the high jump at four feet and 10 inches.

Freshman Violet Sweger took eighth in the 100-meter dash at 14.16 seconds. Sophomore Madelyn Ayers scored ninth in the shot put at 28 feet and 5.5 inches.

Hale Distance Night

The Deerfield track and field team also had two runners compete at the Hale Distance Night in West Allis on Friday, April 26.

Senior Cody Curtis took 33rd in the boys 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.58. Sophomore Emme Drobac ran sixth in the girls 3200-meter run at 11:17.18.
