Family of AR woman found in plastic tote offers reward for clues

ST. FRANCIS COUNTY, Ark. — The body of Troy Strope was found stuffed into a plastic storage tote on Feb. 20, but so far, no arrests have been made.

The family of the 42-year-old mother of three is now offering a $1,000 reward, hoping to entice someone to come forward with information.

Thoughts of how her niece must have suffered keep Troy Strope’s aunt, Eve Dillman, awake at night, as the search for her killer or killers drags on.

“You can imagine the worst things, from the beginning to the end, from the time she disappeared to the time she was put in the tote,” said Dillman. “It’s just over two months since she was found, and we have been absolutely sick over it.”

Stropes body was found by a couple of kids on four-wheelers, stuffed in a plastic storage tote along St. Francis County Road 731.

“She is a girl of 5-foot-10-inches, so to fit inside that tote, one can only imagine what they had to do to get her in there,” she said.

Investigators say forensic evidence gathered at the site, and at a house in Forrest City in March, are still being analyzed at the Arkansas Crime Lab, but no arrests have been made so far.

This is frustrating news for Strope’s family, who is now, with the blessings of investigators, offering a reward to help entice someone to speak.

“At this point, we are offering a thousand dollars for information leading to the conviction of the killers,” said Dillman. “None of us got to say goodbye. They took her from us, and by taking her from us, nobody got to have that closure.”

A Facebook group called “Justice for Troy Strope” has been started where people can post their thoughts of Troy. A Gofundme account has also been set up to help raise reward money.
