STORM ALERT WEATHER 3 FORECAST: Wildfire smoke returns for the weekend
Wildfire smoke concentrations will be making a comeback for the weekend. Aside from ample sunshine, hazy sky conditions are forecast Saturday and Sunday with seasonable high temperatures near the 80 mark. Late Saturday night into early Sunday, clouds will increase as another round of passing showers/storms enters from the west.

A few storms roll through today, additional overnight storm chances this weekend, a bit more humid early next week
As of early afternoon, showers and thunderstorms are gradually tracking east ahead of a cold front currently draped across Central Minnesota. Some storms have become severe, primarily over Fairbault and Martin Counties over the last few hours, and are closing in on portions of our viewing area west of I-35.

Widespread rain expected into tonight, much drier this weekend & mild into early next week
We certainly won’t be ending the month on a summery note today, but at least we’ll make up for it in a comfortable way as we kick off August!. Low pressure continues to approach from the west along with copious amounts of moisture combined with plenty of forcing overhead. This will keep the rain going the rest of today for many of us and you’ll need the umbrella!

Our next rain maker approaches today, arrives Friday, and exits by the weekend as we settle into a mild pattern
Things are starting off fairly clear and quiet out there this morning, with mild temperatures and a bit of a breeze. It seems we have been able to dodge too many issues in terms of wildfire smoke, with minimal smoke actually reaching the surface. No complaints there, and it seems that will be the case through the remainder of the day today!
