    Two injured after vehicle veers off Richland County roadway

    BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — Two Missouri women have been injured after being ejected from a vehicle in Richland County on the evening of Friday, May 10.

    According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling northbound on Interstate 29 (just north of the Christine exit) when it drove off the roadway, entered the median, and re-entered the roadway. As a result of this sudden movement, the two passengers in the rear seats of the vehicle (who were not wearing restraints at the time) were ejected.

    Highway 1806 reopens following fatal crash

    One of the rear passengers (a 58-year-old woman from St. Louis, MO) suffered minor wounds as a result of the accident, and the other (a 53-year-old from Florissant, MO) suffered more severe injuries. Both passengers were transported to local hospitals for treatment. After the accident, Northbound traffic on Interstate 29 was re-routed for approximately 45 minutes until ambulances departed.

    The crash currently remains under investigation.
