Myrtle Beach Oyster & Arts Festival gets shucked to next month
You could say it shucks — or that the festival even got a raw deal — but winter weather has pushed the third annual Oyster and Arts Festival in Myrtle Beach to next month. The “lively celebration of Coastal Carolina food, art and community,” originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 31, advertised as rain or shine, has been rescheduled for Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14, because of the potential for ice this weekend. The festival will still take place behind Grand Strand Brewing Company in downtown Myrtle Beach from noon to 4 p.m.

A new restaurant in the Myrtle Beach region is being opened by brothers. The previous location will close.
Angell Bros. Bar + Grill, a popular Surfside Beach spot run by brothers Jon and Dan Angell, plans to shut down its current location at 8703 Highway 17 Bypass by the end of March. The move comes after struggling business in the strip plaza, prompting them to build a fresh venue at 3540 Belle Terre Blvd. in the Forestbrook area of Myrtle Beach. Jon Angell aims for a May 1 opening, featuring expanded food options like more entrees, a bigger bar, an outdoor patio, and the same lineup of burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, gourmet nachos, shareables, and fried seafood platters.
