Child hospitalized after nearly drowning in Flemington

FLEMINGTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — A child had to be taken to the hospital Wednesday after a near drowning happened in Taylor County.

According to an official with the Harrison-Taylor 911 Center, at about 9:06 p.m., crews were alerted to a possible drowning call on Sunset View Drive in Flemington. The official said that once they arrived, emergency crews were able to get the child stable enough to be taken to United Hospital Center in Bridgeport for further treatment.

The official did not specify the child’s current condition.

Crews from the Bridgeport Fire Department, Flemington Fire Department, West Virginia State Police, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and Flemington EMS were alerted to this call.
