The Housing Acceleration Fund is an innovative program launched last year which provides self-sustaining loans to shovel-ready housing projects.

She’s trying to have it both ways. Gov. Kathy Hochul boasted Wednesday that she’s not on board with Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s “tax the rich” crusade — even as her new tax on luxury second homes is driving the well-to-do away. The Democratic governor said she’s not squeezing millionaires and billionaires for revenue, and claimed that the new “pied-a-terre” tax she pushed through wasn’t speeding up the ongoing exodus of New Yorkers fleeing to cheaper states. Kathy Hochul claimed she’s against the “tax the rich” crusade that’s a rallying cry for Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his socialist cronies — even though she did push through a new tax on luxury second homes in the city. Gotham Organization, Fisher Brothers, and Mural Real Estate Group will turn the state-owned site at 621 West 45th Street into two connected skyscrapers with 1,127 homes, including about 338 affordable units, new facilities for the museum, and a public park that connects to the existing pedestrian bridge.
