Waiting game as Lineage blaze continues to smolder in Finley

FINLEY, Wash. -- More than a week has passed since Lineage first caught fire and Benton County Fire District #1 said it's still smoldering.

Fire crews are continuing to monitor and douse the lineage cold storage warehouse near Finley.

BCFD1 said fire crews are actively spraying water onto the smoldering building from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a crew stays overnight to monitor hotspots.

Investigators with ATF are also actively at the scene looking into what potentially cause the blaze that destroyed a large portion of a 525,000 square foot building.

At this time, the district said it just has to wait for the fire to burn itself out and the smoke to dissipate.

There are portable monitors at the scene that also check the air quality and the State Department of Ecology continues to get updates on the situation.
