Unearthing an ancient giant: Second round of mammoth dig site tours kicks off
Tri-Cities, Wash. — Right on the outskirts of Kennewick lies an archeological dig site dating back to the Ice Age. The main attractions at the dig are the remains of an ancient mammoth, thought to have grazed the plains around the Tri-Cities 15,000 years ago. Dig site leaders say they estimate the Columbian mammoth to have been over ten-feet tall, and still growing. Although, the mammoth itself is not the only part of history the group is digging up.

Ben Franklin Transit's Art Bus to visit winning students' schools
TRI-CITIES, Wash.-The Ben Franklin Transit is recognizing the designers of the 2024 Art Bus by making special stops at the winner's high schools on May 21. The theme of the Ben Franklin Transits 2024 art contest was "Free Ride," in reference to the BFT's new offer of free rides for youth through age 18 and seniors over age 65.
Adventures Underground to host ‘Mushroom Fest’ Outdoor Market
RICHLAND, Wash.- Mushroom Fest 2024 will host an outdoor market with food, entertainment, and activities in Richland from May 31 through June 2. According to Adventures Underground Bookstore, the outdoor market is a 3-day event that welcomes the entire family. The event’s theme honors the literary work and artistry of author Lewis Caroll, the author of Alice and Wonderland, who often used mushroom imagery.
