Demonstrators planned to rally across the Kansas City area Saturday to protest the Trump Administration and urge early voting in the fourth installment of nationwide No Kings day. According to the movement’s national website, “No Kings: Vote Early” on Oct. 17 will have participants split time between rallies and a nonpartisan push for voters to make their voices heard in early voting. Krista Mann of Indivisible KC , a progressive pro-democracy organization, said the event will include mobilization activities like door knocking, canvassing and sharing information about what issues are on local ballots. “It’s also a day of action. It’s not just the show of visible strength that No Kings has really come to be, but it is also how to turn that into direct electoral action,” Mann said. Election day is Nov. 3.
