FARMVILLE, N.C (WNCT) — Farmville’s Dogwood Festival is one of the biggest events of the year in Eastern North Carolina. The 35th annual event this weekend did not disappoint.

The annual event kicked off on Thursday and ran through Sunday. Each day featured a different main event, including discounted ride bracelets and a Disney movie showing on Kids’ Night. The main event on Saturday was a country music concert that featured local artist Jake Sutton, along with national recording artist Lauren Alaina.

Daniel Taylor, then lead organizer of the event, said none of this would have been possible without the time each and every volunteer put into it.

“Oh wow we’ve got the most awesome team,” he said. “A lot of our board members have been board members for decades. I mean over 10 years. And the volunteers have all done this over and over. Our food vendors, some of them have been coming for 35 years. So, it’s the consistency year after year after year.”
