Clackamas County is caught in a legal fight with the owners of a decades-old equestrian and event space in the small town of Boring. The county moved last month to shut down the Mt. Temperatures will sit nearly 10 degrees cooler than Wednesday’s high, which was in the low 80s. Mother Arrested For Shooting Son
A suspect is facing attempted murder and other charges after a shooting that ended with a serious injury to her teenage son. On Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 3:05a.m., Portland Police officers from East Precinct responded to a report of a shooting victim arriving at a local hospital by private vehicle. They learned the victim had been shot in the neck and suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. They determined that the victim had been shot at Southeast 130th Avenue and Southeast Sherman Street about 10 minutes earlier.
Lincoln City man accused of killing hotel guest, stealing guest’s dog facing multiple charges
LINCOLN CITY, Ore. – A 30-year-old Lincoln City man is accused of killing a hotel guest in order to steal the guest’s dog, according to court documents. According to probable cause affidavit filed in Lincoln County Circuit Court, Roland Evans-Freke is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and first-degree manslaughter. Lincoln City police were called to the Ashley Inn on Highway 101 just after 10 p.m. on May 15 for a report of a physical disturbance, the affidavit said. The police officer’s report said that police arrived and found two citizens restraining Evans-Freke while a 69-year-old victim, identified as Bradley Cole of Milwaukie, Oregon, lay motionless and covered in blood. After reviewing video captured by the hotel’s cameras, police learned that Evans-Freke had been outside of the hotel smoking a cigarette when the victim came out to walk his dog, the affidavit said. According to the police report, Evans-Freke approached the victim and then assaulted him by punching, kicking and kneeing him for several minutes before leaving with man’s dog. Evans-Freke then returned to the scene and assaulted the victim again twice as the victim lay on the ground, the police report said. Court documents said that the victim had severe facial trauma and, despite resuscitation attempts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
