Located in Fairport Village Landing just south of the Erie Canal, Cloth-n-Mortar boutique is set to open Wednesday, May 1.

Cloth-n-Mortar , located directly next to the UPS store in the canalside shopping plaza, launched in October 2021 as a pop-up businesses at a variety of locations around Fairport, including the Cannery complex.

The 1,100-square-foot shop sells women's clothes, accessories and home décor. Think of it as a smaller, more affordable version of women's clothier Anthropologie.

Owner Jennifer O'Donnell, who also owns and operates promotional product distributor Brand Specialties, created the business to bring more retail options to Fairport, where she lives with her husband and three teenage children.

O'Donnell described the style of her customers as "edgy and looking for truly unique and often one-of-a-kind items, while others are more classic." But the women, she said, "want a boutique experience," which is something you simply cannot get from a big box or department store.

Starting Wednesday, (May 1), the store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
