According to the report—which can be viewed in the video player above—Brendan Paul, who was named in a lawsuit against Diddy obtained by 12 News in March , pleaded not guilty in Miami-Dade County, Florida on April 24.

Paul was originally charged with felony possession of cocaine and felony possession of a controlled substance after law enforcement raided Diddy’s Florida home on March 25 , but according to NBC’s report, the court is only moving forward on the cocaine possession charge.

Paul was not in attendance at his arraignment on April 24, but the not guilty plea was filed by his attorneys.

NBC reporter Guad Venegas said in the report that although the raid at Diddy’s home and Paul’s arrest were on the same day, “it’s not entirely clear that these are related.”

The lawsuit against Diddy claimed that Paul made payments to sex workers and distributed guns and drugs for Diddy and “had knowledge” of sex trafficking; Diddy still denies everything listed in the lawsuit .
