The Fairfield Lady Eagles continue to shine. Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity won the District 20-3A Meet held on April 3-4 in Fairfield.

The Varsity Lady Eagles won the meet with 208 points ahead of Franklin (167), Westwood (105), Elkhart (42), Groesbeck (30), Mexia (29), Teague (22), and Buffalo (17).

“We are very proud of our girls and how well they competed at the district track meet,” Coaches Randy Barger and Dani German said.

There are 17 Lady Eagles that advanced to compete at the Area Meet on Wednesday, April 10, in McGregor. To advance to the Area competition, an athlete had to finish in the Top 4.

Advancing to the Area Track Meet are NaKayla Conner, Lillian McBean, Addison Shipley, Bailey Lovelady, Zada Pjetrovic, Madison Russell, Emma Jo Smith, Kaylee Williams, Blayke Brackens, Madox Mitchael, Avery Thaler, Jacelynn Schmidt, Evelyn Fultz, Reese Beaver, Bryanna Willis, Destiny Dowell, and Kennedy Lane. The girls will be competing in a total of 23 events.

NaKayla Conner won the 100m dash with a 12.325. Lillian McBean came in fifth place with a 13.270 and Kennedy Lane sixth place with a 13.300.

In the 200m dash, Reese Beaver came in sixth place with a time of 28.075.

Lillian McBean grabbed second in the 400m dash with a 1:02.145 as Addison Shipley garnered third place with a 1:03.120.

In the 800m run, Bailey Lovelady ran a 2:39.703 for a third place finish. Rhett Ralstin ran a 2:45.324 and Mariana Aguilera ran a 2:47.434 for fifth and sixth place respectively.

Zada Pjetrovic placed fourth in the 1600m run with a 6:08.104 as Madison Russell placed sixth with a 6:13.794.

In the 3200m run, Madison Russell grabbed the silver medal with a 13:41.728 as Zada Pjetrovic ran a 14:02.704 for fifth place and Landry Acreman a 14:12.575 for sixth place.

Emma Jo Smith garnered second place in the 110m hurdles with a 16.709 as Kaylee Williams placed sixth with a 17.422.

In the 300m hurdles, Emma Jo Smith ran a 48.759 for second place and Kaylee Williams a 49.704 for third place.

Blayke Brackens, NaKayla Conner, Madox Mitchael, and Avery Thaler won the 4x100m relay with a 48.392.

The 4x200m relay team consisting of Blayke Brackens, Na-Kayla Conner, Madox Mitchael, and Avery Thaler ran a 1:42.909 for the gold medal.

Kennedy Lane will be an alternate for the 4x100 and 4x200 at the Area Track Meet.

Blayke Brackens, Madox Mitchael, Addison Shipley, and Avery Thaler ran a 4:10.237 in the 4x400m relay to garner first place.

In the long jump competition, NaKayla Conner won the gold with a jump of 17’6½”. Avery Thaler took second with a 16’7 ¾” jump and Jacelynn Schmidt third with a jump of 16’2”.

Destiny Dowell placed fifth in shot put with a throw of 29’6” as Jaci Abram took sixth with a throw of 29’5”. Dowell will get to compete at Area as the fourth place finisher dropped out.

In the discus competition, Evelyn Fultz grabbed third place with a throw of 95’ as Braela Habbit tok sixth place with a throw of 83’8”.

Avery Thaler took first place in triple jump with a jump of 35’10” as Blaye Brakcens jumped 35’9½” for second place.

Kaylee Williams took fourth place with a jump of 35’.

In the high jump competition, Jacelynn Schmidt garnered fourth with a jump of 4’11”.

Reese Beaver and Bryanna Willis tied for third place in pole vault with a jump of 7’6”.

Lillian McBean placed fifth with a jump of 7’6”. EAGLES Collin Glass and Brayden Thornburg advanced to Area in the discus competition. Glass finished in second place with a throw of 126’2” as Thornburg took third place with a throw of 125’4”.

Glass placed fifth in the shot put competition with a throw of 42’5”.

In the 3200m run, Collen Loviette grabbed sixth place with a time of 11:41.456.

Talon Hatchcock placed sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 54.642.

The Eagles came in seventh place overall out of 8 schools with 18 points behind Franklin (215), Mexia (121), Elkhart (76), Groesbeck (74), Teague (59), and Westwood (53). Buffalo came in eighth place with 4 points.
