Bardstown girl scout receives national Medal of Honor for heroic actions
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - An 11-year-old girl from Bardstown, Kentucky is being honored with a rare award after she saved her father’s life. Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana (GSK) honored Girl Scout Ellie Huntt with the organization’s Medal of Honor. According to the organization, the Medal of Honor is given to girls who have performed heroic acts beyond the degree of maturity and training to be expected at their age.

Michael Lee Brown was arraigned on charges of failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance first offense, possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, first offense (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia. A not guilty plea was entered. A preliminary hearing was set for May 23.

Washington County Youth Basketball Camp held
SPRINGFIELD — The Washington County Youth Basketball Camp was held Monday, June 3-Wednesday, June 5. The camp, under the direction of Washington County boys’ basketball head coach Stephen Woodson, included 62 campers. Both boys and girls attended the youth basketball camp, which was conducted at Washington County Middle School. The campers attending the camp were from fourth grade-eighth grade. Numerous award-winners were honored during the camp.
