Fairfield man killed in I-59 crash
A 46-year-old Fairfield man died after a wreck on Interstate 59 Saturday night. The Jefferson County Coroner says Kelvin Mathews was the only one in the car at the time of the crash. The crash happened at 11:15 p.m. on May 11, 2024 at the 119A exit of I-59 North.
What to know about SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover: TV, times, tickets, parking
It is once again SEC Baseball Tournament week in Hoover. The tournament gets started with four play-in games on Tuesday and continues with four game each day on Wednesday and Thursday before dipping to two games for Friday and Saturday with a championship game on Sunday. Landlord asks to join Birmingham’s lawsuit against bar called a ‘breeding ground’ for crime
The landlord of a downtown business sued by the City of Birmingham has asked a judge to join the lawsuit against CRU Birmingham, a bar at 2300 First Ave. North. PFS Birmingham I LLC, which says it is the landlord for the property in the Fix Play Building, filed a motion on Friday asking to join the case against CRU, which the city filed on May 8 seeking the declaration of a public nuisance and requiring operators to take necessary steps to eliminate criminal activity or be prohibited from operating.
