Prestigious National Scholarship Awarded to Suffolk County Community College Student
Joseph Gonzalez, a Suffolk County Community College liberal arts student from West Babylon, NY is one of only 60 community college students nationwide selected to receive the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, a highly competitive national scholarship that provides up to $55,000 annually toward completion of a bachelor’s degree. This is the largest private scholarship awarded to community college transfer students in the country. Joseph is the twelfth Jace Kent Cooke scholar in the college’s 65-year history.

The Town of Smithtown will host a community blood drive at the Smithtown Senior Citizen Center, 420 Middle Country Road, Smithtown on Wednesday, May 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participating community members who donate blood will receive a free box of Girl Scout Cookies.
