Mt’neers football beats Reeds Spring in district opening round
The Mt. Vernon High School football team defeated Reeds Spring in the opening round of the Class 3, District 6 playoff game at home on Friday, Cot. 30, 41-14. After Reeds Spring went up 7-0, the Mt’neers answered with two scores to lead 14-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Wolves scored in the second quarter to send the game to halftime, tied 14-14. It was all Mt. Vernon in the second half, as the Mt’neers scored 14 points in the third quarter and 13 points in the fourth quarter to shut the door on Reed Spring and win the game by 27 points.
