Severe storms hit Ash Grove
5-inch rainfall floods parts of town, wind leaves wake of damage. While Greene County was the recipient of inches of rain over the weekend, northern Greene County was especially inundated with deluge precipitation. Flash flood warnings covering the entire county ushered in the storm that brought with it high winds and impassable roads. Up to five inches of rain was reported in and around Ash Grove proper, which resulted in flooding at Ash Grove City Park and a closure of North Tower Street.
Public access to two Greene County, Mo. lakes closed due to flooding and debris
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Springfield City Utilities announced Sunday that public access to Fellows and McDaniel Lakes will be closed for the time being. According to a Facebook post, public access to the lakes will be closed starting June 10 due to flooding and large amounts of debris that washed up.

Big rigs take to J.R. Martin Park
The Republic Parks and Rec Department held Big Rig Night at J.R. Martin Park on Friday, June 7. During the event, more than 20 large vehicles, including police and fire vehicles, commercial trucks, and vehicles belonging to the city’s various departments, were on display. There was also face painting, yard games, an inflatable house and concessions on sale. Following the events of Big Rig Night, the movie “Elementals” was shown at the Amp.
Ozarks road crews staying busy after weekend flooding
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Ever since the middle of last week, the First Alert Weather Team kept an eye on our flooding threat that unfolded over the weekend. Much of the Missouri Ozarks saw rain amounts pushing as highs as 7 to 8 inches in total, keeping road crews busy closing off any flooded roads.

Volunteer Ozarks: Generations Village Building First of its Kind Nonprofit in Missouri
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Generations Village, now under construction in Willard, is a first of its kind in Missouri and possibly the Midwest. The new nonprofit took inspiration from a Massachusetts organization, and now, it will offer a new way to serve multiple generations ranging from foster children to senior citizens.
