VIRGINIA—A Rock Ridge High School student is behind bars accused of threatening to shoot other students.

Elijah Kehn, 19, of Eveleth is charged with three felonies, including making threats of violence.

According to court documents, Kehn allegedly made the threats while eating lunch at the school, which is located in Virginia, on April 3.

Student witnesses say he was upset about not getting what he wanted for lunch.

Eventually, Kehn allegedly said he was going to go buy a gun and shoot people at school.

The witnesses reported the comments to school staff.

Officers later responded to Kehn’s home, where they say he originally denied the accusations but then said he wasn’t actually serious about the threats.

He’s being held at the St. Louis County Jail and a judge set his bail at $750,000.

He is scheduled to be back in court April 29.

School leaders notified families of the incident in an email nine days later on April 12.

They wrote student safety is their top priority and at no point were any students in danger.
