Evansville murder suspect found competent to stand trial

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- An Evansville man accused of murder will face a jury later this month.

Robert Ballard Junior was arrested in 2018 after police say that he targeted and shot two women in a car on Delaware Street. One of the women died.

Ballard has been found incompetent to stand trial several times, but his attorney tells us that he was found competent in March. Ballard also reportedly rejected a plea deal in the case.

The trial is set to begin on April 29.
