Road closed after vehicle hits power pole in Suffolk
SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A vehicle struck a power pole on Wednesday morning in Suffolk, causing the pole to nearly topple over. Suffolk Fire & Rescue said at 10:13 a.m. that they were on the scene in the 700 block of Kilby Avenue, which was closed between Linden Ave. and Cannon St.

Retired Bertie County teacher and Band Director Marsha Smithwick was honored Monday when the Bertie County Commissioners passed a resolution highlighting her accomplishments throughout her stellar career. Woman hits fast-food worker with honey mustard sauce
Selinsgrove, Pa. — A North Carolina woman was cited after she allegedly got mad and threw a cup of honey mustard sauce at a woman working at the Dairy Queen drive-thru in Monroe Township. Toneika Askew, 34, of Ahoskie, N.C., came through the drive-thru of the restaurant on North Susquehanna Trail around 1:30 p.m. April 30. Trp. Jacob Kozma of state police at Selinsgrove said she became mad and started shouting at the workers. That's when she took the cup of honey mustard sauce and threw it through the drive-thru window, hitting a 50-year-old worker inside, Kozma said. Police cited Askew with disorderly conduct through the office of District Judge Scott A. Zeigler in Selinsgrove.
