This year Thanksgiving and Christmas both took me to Eugene, because it's such a niche spot and not many have written about it. I decided to make a simple roundup of the local eateries here! 🌟 Since there are too many to mention, I split my reviews into two parts: The first part includes Japanese, Chinese, Southeast Asian cuisine, and BBQ. The second part will cover brunch, bubble tea, and some local bars and coffee shops... Japanese Cuisine: - Izakaya Jinsei, a cozy spot with a great vibe 🏮 - Izakaya Meiji Co., a tiny place with fewer options but still worth a visit - Akira, you'll need a reservation, one of the few places offering omakase locally - Sushi Pure - Tokyo Tonkatsu, highly recommend their pork cutlet rice 🍛, the stir-fried rice cakes are good, ramen is just okay - Makoto Japanese Restaurant - Sushi Seoul, a mix of Korean and Japanese - Izumi Sushi and Grill Chinese Cuisine: - Wonder Wok Restaurant and Bar, authentic Lanzhou flavors - Bing King, delicious pancake wraps from a red food cart - Kung Fu Bistro, for some spicy Sichuan dishes - Legend of Szechuan - Spice N Steam, a place my friend warned me about - Five Lucky Stars, American-style Chinese food Southeast Asian Cuisine: - Sabai Cafe & Bar, Thai food 🍲 - Ta Ra Rin | Thai Cuisine (Eugene), more Thai dishes - Bon Mi, Vietnamese delights - Vietnam Restaurant, known for its Vietnamese noodle soups 🍜 BBQ: - Kkoki Korean BBQ Eugene, seriously tasty Korean BBQ 🇰🇷, went there twice! All-you-can-eat for under $50, recommend cuts #1, #20, #8, and also loved #23, the rice sausage, though service can be slow - Bill & Tim's Barbeque & Tap House, awesome American BBQ Stay tuned for my next post on brunch spots, bubble tea, and local hangouts! 🍹
