Shelby Safari is back in business
The Shelby Safari is back in business. Located at 325 Main Street in Shelby and, it is a fantastic option for playing and parties. The Shelby Safari focuses on playtime for kids ages 10-years-old and under and provides a safe, warm and fun time for younger children, especially during the colder months. A ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of the Shelby Safari took place on December 1.
Sharon Darlene Chambers Habets
Sharon Darlene Chambers Habets passed away on the afternoon of Nov. 29, 2023. Funeral services will be held at the Living Faith Baptist Church in Shelby at 10 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2023. Annual Coyote Classic Basketball Tournament returns
The Coyote Classic Basketball Tournament is back for its eighth year. This annual event features competition from all around the state with a fun preview of what the season has in store. Teams from Cut Bank, Browning, Belt, Malta, Eureka, 3-Forks, Mission, Fairfield and Chinook will compete in Shelby for three days, starting December 7 through the 9th.
Cut Bank Man Accused of Shooting a Woman Admits to Charges
(Great Falls) — A Cut Bank man accused of assaulting and then shooting and wounding a woman at a residence on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation admitted to charges. Luke Charles Wells pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and to using a firearm during a crime of violence. Wells faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release on the assault charge and a mandatory minimum of five years to life in prison, consecutive to any other sentence, a $250,000 fine and five years of supervised release on the firearm charge.
Shelby grapplers kick season off at Cascade Badger Invitational
The Shelby boys and girls wrestling team traveled to Cascade for the annual Cascade Badger Invitational for the two-day season opener. There were 22 boys’ teams and 17 girls’ teams in attendance. The Shelby boys placed 13th, and the Shelby girls placed 11th, as teams. Individually, Ryland led both squads by placing second and Ellie Munson and Amelia Clarke placed third and fifth, respectively.

Our Marias Museum's Annual Gingerbread House contest is coming up tomorrow (Tues) night, in the Munson Building, from 4 to 7. Shelby’s Tree Of Lights
The Tree of Lights Celebration of Life, will be held on Monday evening, December 11th, at Logan Health-Shelby Assisted Living (Heritage Center.) There'll be a reverent reading of names & the placing of ornaments on the beautiful Christmas tree. Entertainment will include Strings N' Things & Poems too. Don't worry about a thing...there'll be some nice refreshments during the evening.
