The Pittsburgh Pirates have found a new radio home in Erie.

Happi 92.7 FM will begin carrying Pirates games Monday, said Scott MacDowell, news director for WICU-TV and WSEE-TV. Happi 92.7 is owned by Lilly Broadcasting, which also owns the two Erie television stations.

WJET-AM 1400 had broadcast Pirates games for years but was not part of the Major League Baseball team's network for 2024, Pirates officials said.

No reason was given, though a Pirates spokesman said in early April that the team was looking for a new affiliate.

Cast adrift: No Erie radio station carrying Pittsburgh Pirates games

"One of our sales guys had heard the games weren't being carried in the Erie area and we have the radio station, so it was a win-win," MacDowell said.

Lilly Broadcasting will also carry the games on its Warren County stations: WNAE-FM (Kinzua Country) 104.3 FM and Happi 96.7 FM.
