Washington State Patrol car involved in collision
MOSES LAKE, Wash. – A Washington State Patrol (WSP) car was involved in a collision on Wednesday. Moses Lake police responded to the crash in addition to WSP personnel. According to WSP, a trooper was driving in Moses Lake when a driver in the neighboring lane hit their vehicle. Both cars pulled over and there were no injuries.

Moses Lake’s Well 20 to begin producing water
MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake’s water difficulties came a little closer to being alleviated this week, according to an announcement from the city. On Monday, city staff and a contractor worked together to start a 72-hour well capacity test on Well 20, city Communications Director Lynne Lynch wrote in the announcement. During the test period, the pump will produce 1,200-1,500 gallons per minute. If all goes well, Lynch wrote, Well 20 could be fully functional in the next month. Once it’s at full capacity, the well is expected to add about 1.5 million gallons a day to Moses Lake homes and businesses, mostly in the Larson and Knolls Vista areas.

MLSD levy voted down for second time
MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake School District educational programs and operations levy was voted down a second time in Tuesday’s special election. District voters rejected the levy by a vote of 3,947 against to 3,094, or 56.06% to 43.94%, according to the Grant County Auditor’s Office. That margin was even greater than the 3,758-3,611 vote that defeated the levy in the Feb. 13 election.
Gas leak shuts down stores, streets in Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE — A gas leak closed streets and caused some businesses to be evacuated Tuesday morning in Moses Lake. At just before 8 a.m., a construction crew was excavating at Penn Plaza, at North Stratford and Mart roads, when workers struck a natural gas line, according to Moses Lake Police Chief David Sands.
