Minnesota Boosts Rural EMS Services with $30 Million Aid Package Signed by Governor Walz in Hoyt Lakes
Minnesota's EMS system is getting a financial shot in the arm, thanks to a new law inked by Governor Walz alongside state Senator Grant Hauschild in Hoyt Lakes. The emergency EMS aid package now known as HF 4738 will pump $30 million into ailing emergency services, with a significant focus on rural communities that Senator Hauschild insists are in desperate need of robust intervention.

Pulsar Helium’s Jetstream well roars
Pulsar Helium held a media event on Tuesday at the company’s Jetstream well near Babbitt. The well had been drilled this winter but the site had to be shut down when road restrictions went on. With the roads open, the company has been working on completing testing of the underground helium reserve.

Officer responded to a disturbance within a 10-block radius of Fir Cir. Nothing was observed out of ordinary. Officer found lost child with assistance from East Range PD and K9 Officer responded to two lost dogs. One was brought back to the PD and reunited with owner. Second dog wasn’t able to be located.
NLX Meets Downtown Business Leaders Over Luncheon
DULUTH, Minn – The Northern Lights Express has been discussed for years here in the Northland… and Tuesday the project was the subject of an informational lunch downtown. The NLX Board met with the downtown council to describe the project’s details and share a vision for the future. St. Louis County Commissioner Keith Nelson has been involved with the project for over 18 years. He chairs the NLX Board and says light rail continues to prove that it is THE transportation mode of the future. He says support of the downtown businesses who gathered today is critical for the success of the project.

ELY—Ely Rotary Club awarded a $1,000 grant to United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN) May 8 to support the organization’s local operation of the Imagination Library program.
