Logan's annual bike rodeo will teach kids and their families about bike safety
The Logan Rotary Bike Rodeo Saturday, June 15, is a free event to help children five to 10-years-old learn to be safe while riding their bicycles this summer. The bike rodeo will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot behind The Sportsman at 129 N Main Street in Logan.

Ridgeline’s status as Utah softball power confirmed with second title in three years
In the wake of the COVID-19 shortened spring season, Ridgeline softball stood at a crossroads though no one quite yet knew. An elite program would soon be born in Millville. Four years into the program’s existence, the Riverhawks were by no means in dire straits. They owned a 57-36 overall record with a 16-7 mark in region games with a top three finish in the region standings every year (except 2020 which didn’t have region games due to being shortened).

USU men’s basketball: Aggies sign Gonzaga transfer
Another piece was added to the 2024-25 men’s basketball team on Monday. Pavle Stosic had already made it be known on social media that he was headed south to Logan from Gonzaga. Utah State head men’s basketball coach Jerrod Calhoun made it official to start out this week. Stosic will be a sophomore and have three years of eligibility left.
American Legion baseball: Wolverines edge Trappers in tourney title game
A pair of American Legion baseball programs resumed their rivalry in the championship game of a local tournament, and it was another barnburner. Kaden Wiser sprinted home on a Nate Dahle grounder in the bottom of the eighth to propel the Cache (Ridgeline) Wolverines to a hard-fought 5-4 victory over the Blacksmith Fork (Mountain Crest) Trappers in the finals of the Rocky Mountain School of Baseball Cache Summer Slugger Tournament on Saturday evening at Ridgeline High School. The Wolverines also outlasted the Trappers in extra innings the last time these rivals squared off, which was last July in the American Legion State Tournament.

Prep girls basketball: Three and counting — Skinner continues to improve and impress
MILLVILLE — It’s been more than three months since Ridgeline wrapped up a second straight 4A state title in girls basketball. However, one Riverhawk has been busier than ever on the hardwood. Emilee Skinner has been traveling to camps, tournaments and, most recently, spent nearly a week in Colorado Springs, Colorado, trying out for the U17 U.S. national team. She was one of 12 to make the squad and will be heading to Mexico next month to help represent the U.S. at the World Cup after a training camp in Colorado Springs that begins on July 3.

A recent trip to Europe ended up being an extra special one for a local soccer player. Chloe Sadler traveled to Germany with the U.S. U16 Women’s National Team for a recent two-match exhibition series against Germany. The Hyde Park native was in the starting lineup for both matches and scored in the rematch, a 4-2 U.S. victory on Tuesday in Aschaffenburg, Germany.
