Bluejackets survive seventh inning surge from North Knox to advance to sectional championship
VINCENNES – Mitchell has advanced to the 2A Sectional 47 Championship game after beating North Knox 10-8 in a tense second-round matchup on Tuesday. The Bluejackets found themselves in a familiar position against the Warriors. Mirroring last year’s sectional matchup, they wound up against North Knox in the second round, ultimately giving up eight runs, the same amount they allowed last season, in a losing effort.
Chargers depth leads to county golf title
DARLINGTON — North Montgomery boys golf has had a deep and talented team all season long. That depth was on full display once again Thursday night as the Chargers hosted the county golf meet at Rocky Ridge. Being able to take four scores all under 90, the Chargers won the county title handily by shooting a 340. Crawfordsville placed second with a 364 and Southmont came in third, six strokes behind CHS with a 370.
Southwest Indiana Cantata Choir performance Sunday, June 2
The Southwest Indiana Cantata Choir (SWICC) will perform the cantata Our Father: A Journey Through the Lord’s Prayer by Pepper Choplin with a live orchestra in the Washington High School auditorium in Washington, IN on Sunday, June 2 at 4:00 pm. Choplin states, “The Lord’s Prayer. Sometimes, when we pray the prayer, we simply recite it out of habit without grasping its power. I hope this cantata will help you and your listeners connect personally with the prayer so that it will become a significant moment of communion with God.”
