Partly sunny, warm and humid conditions are likely on Saturday with afternoon temperatures into the mid 80s. A cold front will approach late day with the chance for a few showers and thunderstorms. Drier conditions will return on Sunday with highs back into the mid 80s. We are tracking a cold front bringing scattered showers and storms today. We start the day sunny and quiet as high pressure shifts eastward. Sunshine lasts throughout the morning and much of the afternoon before showers and storms arrive near the end of the workday. Early Showers Give Way to Partial Sunshine
An early shower will be possible Thursday with partly sunny skies by the afternoon. Temperatures will be cooler than we have been this week in the lower-80s. Overnight, mostly clear skies are expected and we could see patchy fog developing overnight. Lows will be around 50. Lots of sunshine will end out the week with highs continuing in the lower-80s. A cold front will drop through the region on Saturday. This will increase clouds into the afternoon with a chance for showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s on Saturday and Sunday. Fair skies are expected Sunday. Low pressure will lift out of the Great Lakes region for Memorial Day with the chance for showers and thunderstorms. Some windy conditions are also expected. Temperatures will start off the week in the upper-70s. Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will be in the low to mid-70s. Scattered showers will be possible both days as low pressure lifts to the north.

Waverly man found in a stranger's car arrested on drug charges
A Waverly man is facing numerous drug charges after police say he was found in possession of controlled substances after entering an unlocked car. According the Waverly Police Department, on Thursday, May 23rd, David Alan Gantkowski was arrested after someone reported an unknown man had entered an unlocked car on Broad Street and was passed out.

Hazy, hot and humid conditions are likely on Wednesday with temperatures close to 90. An approaching cold front during the afternoon will trigger a few thunderstorms with the potential for damaging wind gusts and hail. The thunderstorms will clear the region by sunset, but another round of showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday morning as the actual front passes through. Temperatures late week will drop back into the lower 80s.
Reported Landslide at Watkins Glen Park Cleaned Up and Gorge Trail will Reopen Monday
10:10 PM UPDATE 5/26: According to the Stae Park Staff the Gorge has been cleaned up and will reopen to the public tomorrow morning, Monday, May 27th. 9:50 PM UPDATE 5/26: According to the Watkins Glen Fire Department, they were called to the scene at Watkins Glens State Park for a report of hikers trapped near marker 13. The department says the landslide on Lovers Lane Trail affected the Gorge Trail.
