State audit: Blue Ridge Road construction delays impacting State Fair, costing taxpayer millions

In addition to the typical congestion on the roads around the state fairgrounds, drivers on Saturday also had to weave around a construction zone on Blue Ridge Road. Frustrations over the delayed underpass project, which was supposed to be completed by July 2023, are now at the center of a new state audit.

NC drivers can report gas stations that overcharge. Will violators be announced?

North Carolina’s attorney general announced a new tool this week that will allow drivers to report gas stations they believe aren’t passing along savings from the gas tax pause. Jeff Jackson’s office will be looking for “clear outliers” using “publicly available gas price data,” and will investigate consumer reports. I asked whether the attorney general’s office will be announcing or reporting any gas stations that are found to be violating the law , which Gov. Josh Stein signed Oct. 9.
