The Owatonna softball team had a chance to do some damage in the race to the Big 9 Conference title on Thursday night. The Huskies hosted Class AAA No. 6 ranked Mankato West with two chances at the Scarlets in a doubleheader at Federated Park. Owatonna dropped the first of the two games in a close 3-2 loss, before using a big fourth inning during the second game to record an 8-0 shutout for West’s second Big 9 loss of the season. ...

Whether in Owatonna or Rochester, the Husky lacrosse teams had plenty to smile about Thursday night, as both picked up victories over their Rochester counterparts. At Federated Field, boys lacrosse celebrated Senior Night by recording their second straight win with an 18-5 rout of Rochester. Over in Rochester, girls lacrosse also picked up their second win in a row by avenging their loss in the season opener to Rochester with a 5-2 victory. ...
