For each of the past 50 years - except 2020 - Blooming Prairie has created a button for its renowned Fourth of July celebration. Now, the Blooming Prairie Chamber of Commerce wants to see who has the largest collection of unique buttons. “Our goal with this is to see who’s got the biggest collection of Fourth of July buttons in the Blooming Prairie area and if they’ve got more than the Chamber of Commerce,” said Karen Peterson, executive director of the Blooming Prairie Chamber of Commerce.

Floyd County man pleads guilty to Mitchell County drug crimes
OSAGE, Iowa – A guilty plea is entered by a Floyd County man caught with methamphetamine in Osage. Mitchell Robert King, 54 of Charles City, is now scheduled to be sentenced on July 16 in Mitchell County District Court for a controlled substance violence and failure to use a drug tax stamp.

Ramp closures on Highway 14 and Highway 57 in Kasson Tuesday morning
(MnDOT) – Motorists at Hwy 14 westbound and Hwy 57 in Kasson will encounter intermittent ramp closures on June 11 from 6 a.m. to noon as crews pave the ramps. Flaggers will direct motorists through the project area, so short traffic delays are possible. Crews will work as quickly as possible, and the ramps will fully open as soon as the work is completed.
