First responders swing for a cause at Memorial Day wiffle ball tournament
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WCYB) — To kick off Memorial Day weekend several first responders gathered for a friendly wiffle ball competition. For them it's a great time for them to come together and have some fellowship and some competition where they won't get injured which would impact their job and serving the community everyday with what they do, said event organizer Michelle Stewart, they have a tough job, those first responders are serving our community day in and day out and they're running some hard calls, long hours, this is a time for them to come together and have a little fun.

First Baptist Church in Elizabethton will host a free food bag distribution on Thursday, May 23, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The distribution will be outside as a drive-through pick-up.
