The city of Bastrop moves to reduce the speed limit along SH 304
Following a traffic study on the road, the Texas Department of Transportation recommended a reduction of the current speed limit along SH 304 to 50 mph. (Courtesy Adobe stock) Following a Texas Department of Transportation recommendation, SH 304 may see a reduction from 60 mph to 50 mph along the 0.67-mile stretch of road within Bastrop city limits. The change follows a TxDOT traffic study along the roadway.
'No weapons on our campus' | Pflugerville ISD says no students were in danger during hold at Hendrickson High School
PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — Everyone is safe after Hendrickson High School was briefly put on hold Wednesday afternoon, Pflugerville ISD confirmed to KVUE. The district shared a letter sent from Principal Michael Grebb to families, stating that the campus was put on a brief hold while a district police officer detained a student "on a specific issue." Pflugerville ISD said the student does not attend Hendrickson High School.

Hutto should have been gearing up for a runoff election in June after five candidates ran for one City Council place and no one earned more than 50% of the vote. But the runoff was canceled after incumbent Dana Wilcott, the top vote-getters for Place 5 with 33% of the vote, resigned after the May 4 election, saying she has lost faith in the mayor. Evan Porterfield, who won the second-highest number of votes with 19%, took her place on the City Council.
