Car Runs Into Power Pole in Iowa County
A car struck a power pole on Highway 133 near Leaches Crossing Road in the Township of Clyde Thursday around 6:30am. The Lone Rock Fire Department, Lone Rock EMS, Alliant Energy, and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene. EMS evaluated the occupant of the vehicle at the scene where they were later released. Terry’s Tire and Tow assisted in the removal of the vehicle.
Richland Center Man Arrested After Fight Over a Relationship
A man from Richland Center-19 year old Zayden Miller was arrested on a number of charges according to the Richland Center Police Department. Authorities were notified on Tuesday of a fight involving one person being hit in the head with a baseball bat at a Richland Center Business. The fight was the result of a jealous relationship situation. The preliminary investigation identified Zayden Miller as the suspect and he had left the scene. Law Enforcement received in formation Miller was traveling to the Lone Rock area. The Avoca Police Department saw Miller traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 133 westbound into the village head to Muscoda. Due to safety issues-the Avoca Officer did not start a pursuit. Miller’s vehicle became disabled after hitting a deer. He was found sitting in the vehicle by Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies and taken into custody. Zayden Miller was arrested for Child Abuse, Substantial Battery, First Degree Reckless Endangering Safety and Disorderly Conduct. The Richland County and Grant County Sheriff’s Departments, Richland EMS along with the Avoca and Muscoda Police Departments provided assistance to the Richland Center Police Department.

Sheriff: Fiberglass boat in Wisconsin illegally dumped into lake, left to sink
(WFRV) – Authorities in southwestern Wisconsin are looking for information regarding a boat that was allegedly dumped into a lake illegally. According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, on February 26 between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., someone illegally dumped a fiberglass boat into Helena Lake. Officials say the boat was seen on a trailer pulled by a dark pickup truck during that time.
Possible Drug Overdose Investigated in Cobb
The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a possible overdose at a residence on South Wilson Street in the Village of Cobb Thursday around 9pm. Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies and K9- Sam, Highland EMS, and Cobb First Response all responded to the scene. After an investigation, 52 year old Todd Deneen Sr. of Dodgeville was arrested on a probation violation. 48 year old Julie Porteous of Cobb was charged and arrested with Felony Bail Jumping. Both parties were booked at the Iowa County Jail where they remain in custody.
Brush Fire Gets Out Of Control in Iowa County
The Iowa County Communication Center received a report of a brush fire that had gotten out of control and approaching a home on Ihm Road in Dodgeville Township Monday around 5:30pm. Dodgeville Fire and EMS responded to the scene. No injuries, or damage to the home was reported as a result of the incident.
Blanchardville Man Arrested For Violating Protection Order
The Iowa County Communication Center received a report of a protection order violation Tuesday around 1:30pm. Deputies contacted, and later, arrested 37 year old Richard Stone of Blanchardville for Violating a Domestic Abuse Injunction and Misdemeanor bail Jumping. Stone was taken to the Iowa County Jail where he currently remains in custody.

Large Fire In Field Near Dodgeville Extinguished
In Dodgeville, the Iowa County Communication Center received a report of a large fire in a field near Munz Road in Dodgeville Township around 3pm Monday. Mineral Point Fire and EMS along with Dodgeville Fire as Mutual Aid responded to the scene. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Argyle Man Sentenced To Prison For Slashing Woman He Lived With
A former Argyle man accused of attempted first degree intentional homicide for slashing the throat of a woman he lived with has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. 32-year-old Joseph Wallgren was sentenced to 15 years in prison with 10 years extended supervision once released. He was granted credit for 304 days he’s already served in a local jail.
Two Members of Clayton County Sheriffs Department Given Awards of Merit
Two members of the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department have been given Awards of Merit from Grant County Sheriff Nate Dreckman. Deputy Dylan Rumph and Dispatcher Tabitha Chambers were recognized for their teamwork and quick actions in the fall of 2022, which saved the life of a gunshot victim. On October 2nd, 2022, the Clayton County Communications Center received a 911 call of a gunshot incident on the Mississippi River with a subject being shot in the arm. Deputy Rumph and Dispatcher Chambers worked as a team assisting the victim’s wife with a makeshift tourniquet and making sure it was placed correctly. Due to the location, water levels, and obstructions first responders were able to get to the victim approximately 48 minutes later. Clayton County kept the 911 caller on the line and worked with Grant County Wisconsin Dispatch until first responders were able to locate the victim. The incident involved coordination of multiple agencies and resources and sharing of information between three different Communications Centers (Clayton County, Grant County, & Med-Flight). The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office would like to recognize the work done by Grant County dispatchers Tyler Kirschbaum & Michaela Nyhus during the incident.
