This week in Waynesville, Missouri, two incidents were reported. The first incident involves a man who allegedly kidnapped, raped, and assaulted a woman over the course of four days. A jury trial has been scheduled for the accused, Mark Kirk, with charges including first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping inflicting injury, and second-degree domestic assault. The second incident occurred on State Route W and Riddle Road, resulting in injuries. A 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Kollin J. Ethridge veered off the roadway, struck a road sign, and came to rest in a ditch on its side.

Inmate dies at South Central Correctional Center in Licking
The South Central Correctional Center in Licking, Missouri reported the death of an inmate on Wednesday morning. At 6:46 a.m. on November 29, 2023, offender Anthony Edwards, age 43, was pronounced deceased at the facility. Edwards was serving two life sentences for second-degree murder and armed criminal action from St. Louis City. He had been in the Missouri Department of Corrections custody since November 1, 2000.

In March of 2015, Rosalee Byrd, 81, was found suffering from blunt force trauma to her head in her home in the 900 block of McGrath Lane in Salem. Authorities say she was hit in the head with a hammer. She was taken to a hospital and died that same day.
