Former Soldier Sentenced in Maine for Child Exploitation Crimes Linked to Online Gaming
BANGOR, Maine – Christopher Meza, a 23-year-old former soldier from Fort Hood, Texas, was sentenced to a decade in prison today for engaging in child exploitation, announced the U.S. District Court in Bangor. Following a two-day jury trial, Meza was convicted on November 1, 2023, for his crimes against a young teen he met through an online gaming platform. The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge Lance E. Walker, also includes five years of supervised release and an order to pay $16,650 in restitution.
