Marshalls, 'needed and welcomed here' opens in Somerset County
It was a lively morning Thursday at 1534 N. Center Ave. when Marshalls opened its doors for the first time. There was a ribbon cutting, and a gift given to the first person in a long line that began to form at about 7:30 a.m. The new retail store opened at 8 a.m. and the line snaked along the sidewalk past the store. By 8:02 a.m., the parking lot in front of the store was nearly full. Cars continued to roll in slowly as drivers looked for rare parking spaces.
