EAU CLAIRE — Authorities have released additional information in the ongoing search for a missing Eau Claire student.

The Eau Claire Police Department has asked for the public’s help locating Colin Robaidek, 16. The department said Friday afternoon his parents contacted police Wednesday, after he didn’t go to school or return home.

According to the release, “During the investigation, it was discovered Colin left a note stating his intention to voluntarily leave home. According to his parents, this behavior is uncharacteristic, and they are also concerned about Colin’s recent statements of unease over stress he was experiencing. He was observed on video surveillance leaving his residence in the 2200 block of Windsong Court, alone on his bicycle, at 12:52 p.m.”

He was last spotted heading eastbound on American Boulevard shortly thereafter.

Colin stands six-foot-one and weighs 190 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a black sweatshirt and sweatpants, with a black backpack, on a dark gray Trek bicycle.

The FBI, Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department, Altoona Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Northstar Search and Rescue have joined the search, and authorities are receiving assistance from the Eau Claire school district.

Police Chief Matt Rokus urged people to check video from security cameras or similar devices for any indication it might have picked up Colin. "If you have a camera system, check the footage."

"We've conducted extensive searches, water searches and land searches as well," Rokus said. "We don't have a physical area to search that we need the public's help."

Anyone with information about Colin’s location is asked to call the department at (715) 839-4981.

Original story:

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a North High School student who has not been seen or heard from since April 17.

Colin Robaidek is described as six-foot-one and weighs 190 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. According to the Eau Claire Police Department, he was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and sweatpants, while riding a dark gray Trek bicycle.

Friday morning, officials from North sent out an email saying it was “a challenging day” for the school. It noted Robaidek was missing and that there are ongoing efforts to find him. Additional counseling support is being provided at the school.

Social media shows Robaidek was a wrestler for North, medaling at December’s Johnson Creek Classic and being honored last July for his offseason work.

Eau Claire schools Superintendent Michael Johnson released a statement Friday morning on the situation. He said the district is "assisting family, friends, and multiple law enforcement agencies in any way we are able in the search for Colin Robaidek. We are offering additional counseling supports to any of our students and staff as needed. Please keep Colin and his family in your thoughts during this difficult time.”
