Riverhead Free Library just lost a wealth of institutional knowledge, with the retirement last week of David Troyan, the library’s technical services coordinator. Troyan, 56, has a long history with the library, having first started working there as a page when he was a student at Riverhead High School. After graduating in 1986 — as salutatorian of the class — Troyan went to Hofstra University, where he majored in computer science, earning his bachelor’s degree in 1990. He continued working at the library while in college, too.
