The Cape Cod National Seashore announced on Facebook on July 16 that Marconi Beach was “closed to swimming due to bacterial exceedance.”. The source noted that its sample collection is what prompted the temporary closure. The warning added that the National Park Service would keep nearby residents and visitors updated on the Wellfleet, Massachusetts-based beach’s reopening.
