Ellsworth Welcomes New City Manager Charles Pearce, Starting April 2024
Charles Pearce has been appointed as the new City Manager by the Ellsworth City Council in Maine. The announcement was made on February 26, 2024, and Pearce is set to start his duties on April 1, 2024. His contract will be confirmed at the City Council meeting on March 18. The current City Manager, Glenn Moshier, will assist Pearce during the transition.

Ellsworth Invites Local Contractors to Bid for City's Pavement Marking Contract
Ellsworth, Maine, is seeking bids for a one-year pavement marking contract for city streets. The contract may be renewed twice, each for one year, based on mutual agreement. Bids should be sealed, marked as “SYMBOL/CROSSWALK Pavement Marking Bid”, and delivered or mailed to the City Clerk’s Office. The city can accept or reject any bids and waive any irregularities.
Police Beat: 02/19 to 02/25
At 7 a.m., two vehicles were involved in a property damage crash on Rangeley Road. No one was hurt. Around 8:30 p.m., a theft complaint was issued in Hancock Hall. A student’s shirt was missing from the laundry room. The University of Maine Police Department (UMPD) checked the camera footage and identified a female resident walking out with the shirt. When asked why she took the shirt, the student said she was not sure why and returned it to the owner.

Eddington Fire Department warns of changing ice conditions
EDDINGTON, Maine (WABI) - Eddington Fire Department is warning of changing ice conditions. This comes after they recovered a UTV on Chemo Pond that sunk over the weekend. During Tuesday’s recovery of it, crews noted quite a change in conditions saying that “areas that barely looked bad this weekend are now 100-foot-long open spots.”

Search continues for lost dog Albert
