Donations to help keep local pool open

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) – After losing a grant used to fund their pool in Thompson Park, the city of East Liverpool has found other options to keep the pool open.

The J. Birchfield Cartwright pool was in danger of not opening this year due to a loss of funding . However, the community has stepped up to support opening the pool on schedule.

In a Facebook post, the city of East Liverpool stated that donations started streaming in once word got out there were funding issues.

They said they can open the pool on time but will still be on a tight budget and need more donations.

To continue keeping the pool open throughout the summer, donations can be made to: Potter Progress at 126 West 6th, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
