Man facing attempted murder charges in Cecil County arson case
NORTH EAST — A man is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly set fire to his neighbor’s North East-area home while it was occupied by four people — an alleged act of arson that was caught on video by a nearby security camera, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal. Search continues for missing boater
PORT DEPOSIT — Maryland Natural Resources Police continues to search for a 51-year-old man that went missing in the Susquehanna River Monday night. Three people were in the boat as it took on water around 9 p.m. in the vicinity of Port Deposit and were swept from the craft. Two swam to shore but the third did not. Working with allied agencies — Maryland State Police, Harford County Fire and EMS, and Harford County Sheriff’s Office — NRP has been looking for that person, last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans. Police did not identify the missing person by name.
Smyrna man arrested on felony shoplifting charges
LEWES, Del. – A Smyrna man has been arrested on charges stemming from shoplifting incidents in two counties. Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday, troopers were called to Lowes, located at 20364 Plantations Road in Lewes, for a reported shoplifting. Before arriving at the store, troopers were told that a man was in the store stealing merchandise and fled on foot. After obtaining a suspect description, troopers found him at the bus stop near the store and took him into custody. He was identified as 44-year-old Augustine Haymond.
