Man gets eight years for illegal possession of gun during vehicle chase; toddler also was aboard
A felon who more than a year ago led law enforcement on a high-speed chase from Nash County to Zebulon with a toddler aboard has been ordered to serve eight years in federal prison for a firearms-related violation, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a recent news release. NCDOT’s flood warning system garners national award
RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation has won a 2024 Environmental Excellence Award for its flood warning system that allows the agency to better respond to hurricanes and other storms. The NCDOT began developing the advance-detection system after Hurricane Florence caused more than 2,500 roads to close in 2018.
