2 More Shot At Tuscaloosa Apartments Where Man Was Murdered Thursday
Two people are expected to survive after they were shot at Tuscaloosa's Brookhaven Apartments, where a Thursday shooting left one man dead and another man injured. Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, confirmed the new shooting just after 1:30 Sunday morning, a few hours after it reportedly occurred.
Officials in Tuscaloosa react to recent crimes in west Alabama
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Authorities in Tuscaloosa held a news conference Thursday regarding the violence that west Alabama has seen in recent weeks. According to the Violent Crimes Unit, on April 25, authorities responded to the 800 block of Garden Parkway (Hallmark Apartments) on reports of an unresponsive 4-month-old. Officials say the child, who suffered injuries consistent with abuse, was taken to the hospital where they were placed on life support. The victim in the case, 27-year-old Jaquon Ladarrion Stewart, was charged with aggravated child abuse April 26. Unfortunately, officials say the child passed away from their injuries Wednesday, May 15. Stewart’s charges have been upgraded to felony murder.
