Nebraska State Track & Field (5/17): Elmwood-Murdock's Clements leads 9 area medalists with shot put title
(KMAland) -- Nine KMAland Nebraska athletes earned medals at the Nebraska State Track & Field Championships in Omaha on Friday. Elmwood-Murdock’s Sam Clements earned a state championship in the Class C shot put while Syracuse’s Jayden Meyer led the Class C girls with a third-place finish in the 400. Rylie Beethe of Johnson-Brock was fifth in the Class D long jump, and Ridge Bredthauer of Sterling came in sixth in the Class D boys long jump.
Nebraska State Track (5/18): Syracuse's Vestal, Sacred Heart's Simon win state titles
(KMAland) -- Two more KMAland Nebraska athletes won state championships on the final day of the Nebraska State Track & Field Championships. Syracuse’s Ashlynn Vestal ran to a win in the 300 meter hurdles in Class C while Joe Simon of Falls City Sacred Heart won the Class D 110 meter hurdles. There were 21 other medalists from KMAland between the Class C and D meets.
