Fairfax County Police charged a Lorton man in a domestic-related fatal shooting that occurred April 17. According to police, officers responded to Mount Vernon Hospital at around 11:35 p.m. on April 17 after Alison “Kate” LaPorta, 38, of Lorton, was brought to the hospital by her boyfriend, Huy Tien Nguyen, 47. LaPorta suffered a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was taken to Fairfax Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
